Wear & care
Care starts with the actual materials and construction. A strand can contain stone, cord, plating and glue that need different handling. Use the gentlest appropriate method and follow the listing’s instructions.
| Material or construction | Everyday care | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Silver and metal | Wipe dry; use a cloth suited to the stated finish | Abrasive polishing on plated or intentionally oxidized finishes |
| Wood and seeds | Dry soft cloth; allow moisture to dry naturally | Soaking, direct heat and added oils unless instructed |
| Stone and glass | Gentle care suited to the listed identity and any treatment | Impacts, heat and unverified home authenticity tests |
| Cord and stretch strands | Roll gently over the hand; check the fastening | Pulling wide, bathing, swimming and sleeping in the piece |
| Clothing | Follow the product’s fabric and wash instructions | Assuming all natural-looking fabrics use the same wash method |
Cleaning and a symbolic ritual
Physical cleaning removes dirt; a symbolic cleansing or charging practice is a personal ritual. Keep the two separate. A quiet moment, a written intention or placing the item beside you needs no water, salt, heat or sunlight. Do not expose a delicate material to a method simply because it appears in a ritual suggestion.
Storage
Separate pieces so they do not rub. Keep chains from tangling and protect beads from hard edges. Before wearing, check the closure, cord and any loose setting. Stop wearing a damaged piece and contact us about its condition.
If you are unsure
Look up the material’s guide in the material library, then send the product link to the Lab. Treatment and finish details can be more useful than the material name alone.
